Former Chef de Cuisine at French Laundry, Tim Hollingsworth has confirmed future LA Restaurant

Tim Hollingsworth, former chef de cuisine at Thomas Keller’s French Laundry in Napa, has confirmed that he is opening a new restaurant in Los Angeles, although the eatery has yet to be named and he’s still developing the concept. Hollingsworth has been consulting on all of Michael Zislis’ locations along the South Bay (Circa, The Strand House), and is currently working on revamping the menus at the restaurateur’s Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach. While the location of Hollingsworth’s project is tba, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the chef open with the Zislis Group somewhere out by the beach. READ MORE

Last weekend: you can’t even talk about it.

This Wednesday: you can’t even talk about it.

Because, yes, Wednesday’s the day when Thomas Keller’s long-anticipated bakery finally debuts with espresso, quiche and all the sweet baked goods you can fit in your car—*Bouchon Bakery* is (nearly) here.

You’ll find it on the ground floor outside that big courtyard park off Canon—next to Bouchon’s little indoor-outdoor bar, under the actual restaurant upstairs. It’s an intimate spot that looks like a classic neighborhood boulangerie—though the neighborhood in question is now a bit west of Paris.

So in just a few days, you’ll come by the counter with the paper in the morning for an Equator espresso and a pain au chocolat outside in the sun. But you’ll also want to give it heavy consideration for your next intense lunchtime quiche craving.

And we suppose we should tell you about that counter. It’ll be full to overflowing with a changing mix of cookies… and croissants… and tarts… and coffee cakes… and all sorts of French finery involving carbs and sugar.

The rumors were circling earlier this year, and now comes the confirmation from Thomas Keller that the deal got done, the details are firmed up, and it’s … — WOW…WOW…WOW. Can you imagine how challenging that will be to get into? Yikes!

*The rumors were circling earlier this year, and now comes the confirmation from **Thomas Keller** that the deal got done, the details are firmed up, and it’s actually happening:*

*On October 1, Keller and his crew will open a 10-day pop-up restaurant in London, in partnership with **Harrods**.*

*But this isn’t just any pop-up or a random dinner series. Keller is bringing his flagship brand to Europe.*

The temporary restaurant is going to be named “**The French Laundry at Harrods**” and it will aim to be a replica of the original Yountville destination, right down to the flown-in fixtures, fittings, and dinnerware — and over a dozen French Laundry staffers.

The London version will serve a nine-course, £250 (~$411) menu that will feature many of the French Laundry signatures, plus some new dishes made for the occasions. They’ll do 70 covers at lunch and dinner, and the English version of the French Laundry will be located in Harrods’ fourth floor restaurant, The Georgian. And of course, Keller will be on hand running the show, naturally.

**Update:** Do note that the French Laundry — in Yountville — will remain open during this time.
