The 2014 Eat+Drink Supper Club: A Curated Dining Experience

I can’t believe it’s been an entire year already and here we are with our second Eat+Drink Supper Club season - yes, that’s what I’m calling summer now, the supper club season.  We had so much fun last year with our chefs that we’re bringing a few of them back.  We’ve also paired many of them with amazing winemakers and other local culinary entrepreneurs to completely blow your minds.  I can’t wait to spend the summer eating and drinking with you!

Our first dinner is April 26th with Chef Clark Staub of Full of Life Flatbread and J.Brix Wines (the full summer list is below). Chef Staub’s menu is to die for and the husband+wife team of Emily & Jody Brix Towe will regale you with why their wines are about to become your new best friends.

1st Course: Morro Bay Oysters with Mignonette & Spring Pea Soup
Wine: 2012 j. brix “The Augur” Riesling, Kick On Ranch Vineyard

2nd Course: Burrata-stuffed Artichoke wrapped in Prosciutto & Spring-Greens Salad
Wine: 2012 j. brix “Audire” Pinot Noir, Kick On Ranch Vineyard

3rd Course: House-made Chorizo-stuffed Santa Barbara Squid w/Beans and Aioli & Shaman’s Flatbread
Wine: 2011 j. brix “La Belle Rêveuse” Syrah, Alamo Creek Vineyard

4th Course: Smoked Goat-Milk Ice Cream, Cajeta, Pistachio Cake

I could go on and on about each of our 2014 supper clubs and why every single one of them is going to leave you dreamy and excited for the next but leave it to say that each of these dates needs to be seared in to your calendar as must-haves.  Don’t even think about booking yourself to do anything else!

Knife Fight

If you wanted to see our next Eat+Drink Supper Club chef in action, check out this promo of the Esquire Network’s upcoming show Knife Fight.  David Feau does his THING!

From Eater:

Here’s an exclusive and longer look at Knife Fight, the new hour-long television series from Ilan HallTop Chef season two winner and chef/owner ofThe Gorbals in Los Angeles. The show premieres on the newly-createdEsquire Network on April 23 at 9PM. It’s described as “an underground, after-hours cooking competition where talented chefs go head to head in front of a rowdy crowd of celebrities, critics, and die-hard foodies.”

Each episode has different contestants; in the first one are the LA chefs Kevin Meehan (Kali Dining), Felix G. Barron IV (KITCHN 105), Brendan Collins (Waterloo & City), and David Feau (most recently of The Royce at The Langham) face off in pairs at The Gorbals’ kitchen. If you watch the video closely you might notice past Top Chef contestants as well.

The Eat+Drink Supper Club

A Curated Dining Experience with Chef David Féau

If you haven’t heard of David Féau and his fabulous French cuisine, you’ve been living under a rock. David has helmed renowned restaurants throughout Paris, New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, more recently he created The Royce restaurant at The Langham Hotel in Pasadena. He’s currently working on new projects - read: pop ups and new restaurants! - but is graciously coming to cook for you!

Saturday, August 10th
7:00p Cocktails & 8:00p Dinner: $100

David is masterminding a meal of French Bourgeois cuisine that will have us all feeling like we want to sip wine, sit at a French sidewalk cafe and wile away the day smoking cigarettes, reciting poetry and wearing berets.  And once you see the pictures below, you’re just going to want to spend the entire night in the kitchen looking at this hunk of a Frenchman!

David is featured in Knife Fight coming out on the new Esquire Network in September but you can see him in full force in the season opener promo.

I have 28-ish seats (you know I always find a spot for the ones I love) available for this August 10th dinner!!!

Change of Plans

We’ve had a little scheduling change in the upcoming Spanish Supper Club with Judy Adler.  If you were dying to try her paella, you’re going to have to wait a little longer - until October 5th.  It will still taste delicious and I already have the wine waiting for you.  :)

In the meantime, the next Supper Club event will be August 10th with the amazing David Féau creating a French bourgeois meal that will make you start speaking with a bit of a French accent.  And he’s a super nice guy to boot!

Let me know if you want IN!
